ANDREW VINCENT, DO, FAWM

Andy Vincent, DO, FAWM was born and raised in Paonia, Colorado. Andy grew up playing sports and enjoying the outdoors in western Colorado. After graduating high school, Andy ended up at Eastern Illinois University playing quarterback for the Panthers while pursuing a degree in the Biological Sciences. He completed medical school in Glendale, Arizona and then furthered his Emergency Medicine training in Peoria, IL. Andy became heavily involved in the education of future residents after residency training and became a member of the Core Teaching Faculty at the University of Illinois-Peoria in 2014. As a member of the Core Faculty, he became the Director of Medical Student Education and held that post for the subsequent 6 years, before becoming the Assistant Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director. During this time, he completed his FAWM training and really loves both the education and places that Wilderness Medicine is best practiced. He was recognized 6x as the Teacher of the Year for the Emergency Medicine Residency during his Core Faculty appointment. Life took the Vincent's west to Idaho in 2021 where he now works at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID, practicing Community Medicine and teaching for Wild Med to scratch the education itch whenever possible. His primary interests include hunting, fishing, hiking and camping. Andy spends every fall in the elk woods chasing elk with his bow and enjoys teaching his kids the finer details of fly casting and reading defense during football season. He coaches wrestling for Team Sublime, a wrestling club in Pocatello in the winter and chases adventures in between athletic seasons with his wife Kristin and 3 children, Jacob, Austin and Taylor.
