Becoming a Wild Med Adventure's Instructor . . .
Introduction:
Thank you for your interest in becoming an instructor for Wild Med. We're thrilled to hear from passionate individuals like you who are excited to share their knowledge and experience with others.
At our core, we believe that teaching wilderness medicine is about more than just imparting knowledge. It's about creating an environment where learning is fun, engaging, and collaborative. Our approach values camaraderie and friendship, both among instructors and students. We emphasize that the best teaching comes from a place of humility, where no one is expected to know everything, and everyone's experience is valuable.
We pride ourselves on a culture where everyone, no matter their level of experience, feels comfortable and respected. We avoid any atmosphere of arrogance and focus instead on a supportive and team-oriented environment that fosters growth and connection.
If this approach resonates with you, we’d love to have you join our team and bring your unique skills to our courses.

Find a conference that fits your expertise and/or experience that you want to attend and help with. We may be able to apply small discount for those new instructors depending on trip and availability.
You will be assigned one or two topics to present and also help with any hands-on workshops but initially you are there to observe how our team runs a trip and interacts with our clients.
Our lead instructor will fill out an evaluation form for you and also observe how you interact with other clients and your overall attitude.
After teaching on one or two of our conferences and satisfying our requirements, then you may become a Co-Lead & Lead Instructor.
We recommend our Instructors become a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM) and also become certified in Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS), but these certifications are not hard requirements.
