SAMEER SETHI, MD, FAWM

Dr. Sameer Sethi is from the suburbs of Toronto. He attributes his love for the outdoors to his serendipitous medical school journey. He went to medical school at St. George's University, giving him the opportunity to live in the UK, Grenada, and New York City. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency in Rhode Island and then his GME Wilderness Medicine fellowship at the University of Vermont, where he currently works as an attending physician.

After spending time during medical school hiking the UK's Lake District and diving Grenada's reefs, Sameer discovered his love for the "highs" and "lows" of the outdoors. Sameer has since continued his mountaineering and diving journey around the world. While pursuing his Wilderness Medicine fellowship, Sameer has worked as an expedition physician for the Juneau Icefield Research Program in Alaska, race physician for the Grand to Grand Ultra in Arizona/Utah, high altitude physician on Mount Aconcagua in Argentina, SAR member with Camel's Hump Backcountry Rescue, and instructing with Wild Med Adventures.

Sameer's favorite part of Wilderness Medicine is meeting like minded people during his travels and teaching in the incredible classroom that is the outdoors.
