Joe Hauter, D.O., FAAEM

Dr. Joe Hauter was born and raised in central Illinois. He grew up in the outdoors spending time riding horses and playing basketball, soccer and baseball and any other competitive adventure he could do with his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Alana, and along with her pursued his dream of raising a family and becoming an emergency medicine physician. He attended undergrad in central Illinois at Illinois Central College and Bradley University, before moving to Bradenton, Florida to attend Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency in Peoria, IL at OSF St Francis Medical Center. He grew up deer hunting, waterfowl hunting, and turkey hunting, but mostly pursuing whitetail in the woods of Missouri and Illinois. Additionally, he enjoys fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and shooting sports. He was the medical director of the emergency department based observation unit at OSF St Francis for 8 years. He is currently living in central Illinois and practicing Emergency medicine as a board certified EM physician at the same hospital where he completed residency. He has completed his AWLS certification and is now an AWLS Instructor. In addition, we are excited to add his hunting and fishing expertise to our field of instructors.
