Dr. Philip Kostka, MD

Dr. Philip Kostka is an Emergency Medicine physician finishing up his third year of residency at Sparrow Hospital/Michigan State University in Lansing, MI. He is currently in the process of pursuing and completing his FAWM certification. He was born and raised in Rural North-Central Wisconsin, was anEagle Scout, and spent many hours canoeing, kayaking, snowshoeing, and hiking throughout various places throughout the upper Midwest. He also spent 4 years working as local EMS in a rural agency, responding via personal vehicle and caring for patient’s pending ambulance arrival. While still working in one of the busiest trauma centers in Michigan, he continues to find passion in other outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing and has special interest in hunting and fishing education and safety. When done with residency, Dr. Kostka will start a career working in Rural North-Central Wisconsin at a local community hospital, and hoping to continue to pursue multiple wilderness interests including research and public education, as well as continuing to be a Wild Med Adventures instructor.
